MSPS Walk Safely to School Day

Walk Safely to School Day (WSTSD) is an annual national event when all Primary School students are encouraged to walk and commute safely to school. It is a community event seeking to promote road safety, health, public transport and the environment.

WSTSD is an event which encourages parents, carers and their children to build regular walking skills to and from school into their daily routine as children need a minimum of 60 minutes of exercise per day.

Muswellbrook South Public School is participating on Friday 14 May. Students and families are welcome to join in and walk to school from 8:15am with a teacher.

Students are greeted at school with a piece of fruit, enjoying a nice morning with friends, and a healthy start to their day.

Teachers will be at Aldi, Bowman Park (Lorne Street), Osborn Avenue (corner of Skellatar Stock Route Rd), Prince of Wales, and Wollombi Road (laneway) at 8:15am wearing a bright safety vest. Teachers will be leaving the checkpoint at 8:20am, please be at your nearest checkpoint prior to then.

We look forward to seeing everyone participate in this national event.
