PBL Place

Percy James "PJ" is our school Positive Behaviours for Learning (PBL) Mascot. He is a life-size platypus that the school community voted for when the school ran a competition, choosing a PBL mascot for our school.

PJ represents the values Muswellbrook South Public School follow being Safe, Respectful and Responsible. He also is an animal who works hard, loyal to its family, and strong. The platypus was an excellent choice for a mascot to compliment our school values, being a visual reminder to our students who can relate to a cute and fluffy and fun role model.

For these reasons, the platypus was chosen and his name was voted for, giving an ownership from the school community and an acceptance of the school mascot.

PJ will appear at our school events, such as sporting carnivals, whole school assemblies, fetes, book week parades, and fun days.

PJ will appear on our school newsletters, letterheads and be on our school PJ Champ badges, which will be presented to Kindergarten through to Year 6 students. PJ champs will be voted for by the teachers who observe students throughout the term displaying Safe, Respectful and Responsible behaviours.

It is an exciting time at Muswellbrook South Public School, having PJ assisting our students with the tools that will equip them now, and into their future.
